First of all, what is a Pendulum?
It’s basically a piece of crystal or rock, something with a little bit of weight, usually attached to a chain. And when you hold it up, the crystal or rock, at the end of the chain will swing or move in different ways to give you an answer.
And just by swinging and doing these simple movements, it becomes a bloody Magnificent tool to help you make decisions!
Choices can be overwhelming at the best of times, and that’s why using a Pendulum is so helpful. It pretty much gets you out of your own head, taking away the doubt, confusion, indecisiveness, and brings you back to your intuition.
Pendulums come in all different varieties, there is certainly no one-size-fits-all, so just pick whichever one you are drawn to. I have a collection of beautiful crystal Pendulums on my website that are definitely worth checking out.
There is absolutely no right or wrong either, sometimes I’ll use a necklace as a Pendulum. I know some people who prefer to use something that is meaningful to them, for example, one of my close friends uses a necklace which was given to her by her Grandmother, as she feels a connection. But honestly, you can use anything, I personally prefer to use pretty things that sparkle, because that’s just me, I like sparkly things!
If you are new to Pendulums and it’s your first time using one, you may find it a little tricky. Please don’t stress, with a little practice, you’ll get the hang of it in no time, and you’ll wonder how on Earth you ever got by without one!
So, the first thing to do is hold the end of the chain so the Pendulum is hanging just above your palm. Leave a little gap between your palm and the Pendulum so they are not actually touching.
Try and relax as much as you can, and try to focus on the space, the little gap, between the Pendulum and your palm. Try not to focus too intensely on the gap, that you start to stiffen up. Just breathe, stay relaxed as possible and continue to concentrate on the gap between the Pendulum and your palm.
By doing this, you are tapping into the Energy of your inner knowing. You are connecting to the Beautiful Energy of your very own intuition, which actually has all the fucking answers!
As humans, even though deep down we know the answer, we question everything and doubt so many of our decisions. By using a Pendulum, we bypass that part of our brain which ruins our gut feeling.
Keep holding the Pendulum just above your palm, and as it begins to tap into your Energy, just let it move. At this point, you can ask it to show you either a yes answer, or a no answer. Everybody’s answers will be different. For example, a yes answer for me is when the Pendulum swings around in a circular motion. And a no answer for me is when the Pendulum swings in a back and forth movement.
The movement of your Pendulum could very well be a wobble for a yes, and a backwards circle for a no. It may even go sideways for a yes, or up and down for a no.
When you ask it to show you a yes and no answer, be aware there's going to be a lot of variations, and remember all your answers will be unique to you.
When you first start using your Pendulum, it may only be the slightest amount of movement. When I first started using one, I could barely even see it moving, but the person who was teaching me, assured me the movement was there.
And remember, it’s not your hand moving the Pendulum, it’s not conscious, it’s your Energy making it move, don't complicate it, the Energy is there.
Once you get the hang of it, you can use a Pendulum for anything! And trust me when I say anything. Sometimes I use it to choose which Oracle Cards to pick, which is fabulous for people who struggle to shuffle cards. And sometimes I use it to help me choose which bottle of wine to buy, or which pair of socks to buy for someone.
You can even use it to pick colour schemes for your house. I recently renovated my kitchen and I used my Pendulum to help me choose my bench top!
Just remember, when you are starting out, try to relax as much as you can, and try not to overthink it. Keep it simple, and have a couple of options for your Pendulum to choose. If it doesn’t work the first time, try again another time, don’t feel like you got it wrong.
I absolutely love Pendulums! I have one in my car, in the kitchen, in my bedroom, in the office, they are everywhere! I find they really help me get out of my head and I love having one available to me to help me make decisions!
If you want to simplify things in your life and ease the procrastination, then I highly recommend getting yourself a Pendulum.
Happy decision making!
Love & Abundance,
Lyndy xxx
